Heather Georgieff, MA, LPCC is a Nationally Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a certified EMDR therapist. Heather has provided professional psychotherapy services to hundreds of individuals and families in New Mexico. Heather enjoys providing supervision and consultation to the wonderful therapists who’ve joined Neuroo Counseling LLC.
Heather's experience began in 2013 where she gained experience working with Albuquerque's public schools with children and teens. In addition to the individual services, Heather was also an assessor for the youth who needed immediate emergency suicide/crisis assessments for children and teens who struggled with suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors. Heather also facilitated an educational parenting group that included mindfulness exercises, journaling, and education on child development to help parents better understand their children as well as themselves and their own upbringing.
In early 2016, Heather opened up her private practice - Neuroo Counseling. Heather offers EMDR therapy and has seen incredible progress with those who complete the EMDR process. Heather loves working as a counselor and has a great appreciation for those who find interest in working on themselves for the benefit of their health and mental wellness.
Heather uses an integrative approach in her practice depending on the need of the client. At her core, Heather believes in a person-centered approach. This humanistic approach focuses on the client and their world as the center of therapeutic change. Heather reflects warmth, empathy and optimism, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to allow her client to work towards growth and healing.
Shenny Martines is an interning therapist at Neuroo Counseling. She is finishing her dual Masters Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling at Southwestern College and New Earth Institute. As Shenny is learning about the field of therapy in practice, a large part of her path so far has been doing her own inner work throughout her graduate program. In Shenny's work with clients, she has felt truly honored to hold space and provide support for folks in their own healing journey by being present with them in their life’s experiences and challenges. Shenny believes that there is medicine in our stories and it is her intention in this work to support clients therapeutically in processing the past, setting goals for the unfolding of their future, and taking moments to breathe in the present moment.
KayLynn Aragon, MA, NCC, LMHC graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a 4.0 GPA in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. She is passionate about providing mental health counseling to the community in her home state of New Mexico. KayLynn favors a humanistic, attachment, and neurobiological view of counseling. She utilizes an integrative approach to therapy and provides a variety of treatment modalities depending on the needs of the individual. These modalities include somatic experiencing, experiential-based psychotherapies, parts work, attachment therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, talk therapy, art therapy, and play therapy.
KayLynn works to provide psychoeducation on trauma, attachment, and neurobiological responses to clients. She sits with and guides clients to experience their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and sensations in the here and now of the session as an authentic, supportive, and accepting counselor. In turn, this can lead to a client’s strengthened sense of awareness, a strengthened sense of self, and a strengthened sense of control over their automatic responses to stress.
